Quad Kids Event at Holy Trinity as part of the National School Sports Week

10 primary schools entered the Quad Kids event with over 90 Key Stage 1 boys and girls. This event encourages pupils to participate in 4 athletic events:- 50m sprint, vortex howler throws, standing long jump and 300m run plus a relay.

Somerset Schools Futsal Festivals

On Tuesday 20th April and Thursday 22nd April the Somerset Schools Futsal Festivals were hosted at Buckler’s Mead School, Yeovil. Co-ordinated by Somerset FA and supported by the South East Somerset Schools Sport Partnership the event saw schools from all over the south of the County compete at U10s, U12s, U14s and U16s. It was a brilliant two days of competitive Futsal as the winners of the 3 older age groups will now go on to represent Somerset at the Regional FA Youth Futsal Qualifier next month.

Hoop Ball Tournament at Buckler’s Mead School

Key Stage 1 pupils from Huish, Milford Infants, Pen Mill Infants, Birchfield, Norton sub Hamdon, Chilthorne Domer, St Gilda’s and Ash all enjoyed the annual Hoop Ball competition at Buckler’s Mead on Thursday 25th March. This year, due to the poor weather, the tournament took place inside the sports hall which led to a very noisy affair.

KS4 Girls Badminton – King Arthur’s 11th Nov 09

KS4badm3 24-11-09 King Arthur’s School, a hot bed of Badminton Talent, hosted the first of the National Centre Parks Badminton competitions for KS 4 girls. Although only 4 out of the 5 planned entrants attended, the schools that turned up demonstrated the value of the on-going partnerships that are emerging between schools, and the resources in the community. The girls were supported by not only school staff, but by competition managers, School Sport Partnership coordinators and most importantly by coaching and NGB development managers.

Yeovil Area ESFA Tournament

Yeovil-11-11-09-ESFA3 The Yeovil Area ESFA Primary Schools Football Tournament took place on 16th October on an excellent sunny afternoon. Yeovil College Students organised the event as part of their Community Sports Leaders Award.
