Holyrood School played host to the first ‘Quad-kids Athletics Festival on Friday 9th July. The Rotary Club of Chard had the idea and supported the event with planning, administrative work, collation of results and officials. |
| Four Primary Schools were involved this year: Thorncombe, Chard Independent, Ashill and Buckland and it is hoped that this will be expanded upon in future years. |

| Over 60 pupils were involved, each competing in four events; 75m sprint, 600m, long jump and vortex howler throw. Medals and certificates were awarded to the top 3 pupils in each of Years 4, 5 and 6. Events like this enable Primary Schools to deliver part of the National Sport’s Strategy – and in this instance ‘competition’ against other schools. |

| The event was ably assisted by students from Year 10 at Holyrood, who measured and timed. |
| The winning school overall, Thorncombe, were presented with a shield. |
| Holyrood School Sport’s Co-ordinator, Jason Hedaux, would like to extend a very big ‘thank-you’ to the Rotary Club for all their hard work – a fantastic event – well done! |
