National Sport Week 2010
28th June till 2nd July 2010
Monday 28th June saw the start of National School Sports Week across the country and South East Somerset was no exception to the activity. An estimated 50% of our schools took part, engaging around 7000 of our pupils in Olympic related events or core values. A very big thank you to all schools and coordinators for all the effort that went into arranging the outstanding activities which took place.

King Arthur’s School participated in The Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week from the 28th June to 2nd July. The national event was a week-long sporting celebration for primary and secondary schools. |
Quad Kids Event at Holy Trinity as part of the National School Sports Week

10 primary schools entered the Quad Kids event with over 90 Key Stage 1 boys and girls. This event encourages pupils to participate in 4 athletic events:- 50m sprint, vortex howler throws, standing long jump and 300m run plus a relay. |
Young gymnasts spring into their first competition!

Forty six children from schools throughout South Somerset had their first taste of competitive gymnastics in the South Somerset Key Step Gymnastics Championships, held at ‘Orchard Gymnastics’ in Yeovil on Sunday 13th June. |
Partnership KWIK Cricket Tournament a Big Hit!

On Friday 11th June the Partnership Tournament took place at the superb venue of the North Perrott Cricket Club, near Crewkerne. A record number of schools took part in the Year 6 Tournament for Under 11 teams. |
